For the uninitiated, Arising Sun Productions earlier produced a reality couple game show Jodi No. 1 for Shagun TV. And now they bring the unique cookery show wherein the husband plans 3-4 surprise activities for the wife for NDTV Goodtimes, starting 18 October, every Saturday at 7 PM.
The concept of the show is simple- show your wife how much you still value and appreciate her but with a twist in the tale- besides planning out a fun filled day for her you also need to don the chef’s hat and cook a proper 3 course meal of her favorite cuisine! So while the wives are out having fun, the husbands will be sweating it out in the kitchen! And at the end of the day both would meet over a date so romantic that even the mushiest of novels will have a field day competing with it.
The show has been directed by Gyan Sahay and Agastya Jain, who is also the Producer of the show.
Talking about this new concept, Producer Agastya Jain told Tellychakkar.com, “This show Date Knight has been conceptualized by me. It started with the thought of how it will be if the husband plans a day for his wife and give her all the surprises that she would not have been able to get, amidst her tough and monotonous family schedule. The best part of the show is the concept of ‘role reversal’ wherein the husband prepares are complete 3 course meal for his wife. The idea is very romantic and the basic idea behind this show is to provide a complete relaxation mood to the couples participating.”

who was last seen in Sasural Simar Ka, is all set to re-live her days
of being a radio jockey for Big FM by turning anchor for a couple based
reality show titled Date Knight which will air on NDTV
Goodtimes. The show will give a chance to the husbands to surprise their
wives in all the unique ways possible.
The series has been shot in Delhi and the best part is that few real locations like the market area, Red Fort, streets of Chandni Chowk, India Gate etc have been highlighted.
Talking about her stint as anchor with the show, Shalini told Tellychakkar.com, “I always love to anchor as I have been a radio jockey in the past. The best part about this show is that I am wearing dresses with light make-up and fun hair styles. Indeed a relief and break from wearing the sarees and sindoors for daily soaps (smiles). Also, I get to play my age in the show, and it is real fun.”
On her experience, she shared, “I have done everything on this show, from boating to badminton to basketball to spa, to having Chandni Chowk’s famous paranthas from Paranthe Wali Gali to the best of desserts and wine tastings to shopping. To sum it up, I have done everything that a woman loves to do.”
