Star Plus' show, 'Maryam'

Meet the cast of Star Plus' upcoming show, 'Maryam'

The channel and the show makers are bringing in the best of people on board to make the show a hit.

Star Plus is certainly all guns blazing to make several changes to their programming line-up in an ode to regain their lost supremacy.

How successful they are going to be! That will only be determined once we see all their planned shows going on-air and the current set of shows adapting to the numbers game.

Nevertheless, talking about upcoming shows, Khichdi is touted to change the fate of the channel in a way, but what about the weekday slot?

Planning their next big ticket drama, Star Plus along with Somersault Productions are designing a show called Maryam, which will have a Muslim background and will be the tale of three sisters along with a child playing the titular role of Maryam herself.

The casting process of the show is in full force, as actors, Avinash Mishra and Paras Kalnawat will be playing the male leads of the show, while actresses, Sheena Bajaj and Priyanka Kandwal will be playing the female leads.

Avinash created a wave with his cameo in Star Plus' Ishqbaaaz and while he was supposed to do another Gul Khan show in the leading role, the same got scrapped due to some reasons.

Paras is best known for his role in Meri Durga, while Sheena and Priyanka were last seen in Thapki... Pyaar Ki and Jaana Na Dil Se Door respectively.

Isn't the cast absolutely amazing? We cannot wait to see how this turns out to be! What about you? Let us know in the comments below...
Sony TVs 'Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai'
Here are 5 reasons why you should await Sony TVs 'Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai'

Sony TV is all set to offer its viewers a new show, Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai, which is all about the present era and the way relations have taken a backseat in the race for material success. The generation these days has grown to become extremely commitment phobic and even the thought of wanting to settle down is scary.

Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai is a story of how 2 individuals struggle to confess their love for each other because of their own personal struggles, reservations and beliefs. With the show having something different and off-beat to offer to the audience, we list down 5 reasons why Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai needs to be looked forward to-

Fresh Faces

Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai has two fresh faces debuting on the television front - Namit Khanna and Palak Jain. While, we've already seen Namit in Vikram Bhatt's web series Twisted, this show will be Namit's first outing on television. Both Namit and Palak come from the modelling and advertising industry and promise to deliver power packed performances.

The Concept

The concept of the show has been noticed ever since the first promo of the show has been released. It's a unique love story rendering various hues of love and romance. It brings in the freshness of the present modern era. The unspoken and unexpressed story of Siddhant Sinha (Namit Khanna) and Anushka Reddy (Palak Jain) is based on a concept that revolves around their struggle to deal with their feelings for each other.

Real Locales

A major portion of the show has been shot in Delhi, as it has contemporary Delhi as its backdrop. Having shot huge chunks of the show at real mansions and landmark spots in and around Delhi and Noida, the show depicts the authentic upper-middle-class lifestyle and culture and also offers a magnanimous viewing experience to the audience.

Cinematic Delight

From shooting in real locations to using Alexa camera, it makes the show a grand viewing experience akinto the movies. A stellar screenplay and a power-packed script from ace story-teller, Dilip Jha guarantees an entertaining experience to one and all.

The Timeslot

While the common man might be feeling that a 11 pm timeslot is a loss for the makers, it's actually a blessing in disguise for them. For starters, the show will in no way be clashing with the soon to be starting season of IPL (Indian Premier League). Secondly, with Sony's very successful show, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai telecasting at the 10:30 pm time slot, the makers could cash in on its popularity with their show following closely at the 11 pm slot.

'Bepannaah'
Reasons to watch the Harshad - Jennifer - Sehban - Namita starrer 'Bepannaah'

The fresh pairings, Jennifer (essaying Zoya) with Harshad (essaying Aditya) and Sehban (essaying Yash) with Namita (essaying Puja) are going to be a great watch. While it is Jennfier and Sehban who are husband and wife in the show, with the friendship they share their on-screen chemistry will surely grab eyeballs.

The story - Intriguing and complicated

As the director of the show, Anirudha stated, Bepannaah is not a love story but a story about love, and the very idea of that is sure intimidating. With the promos, where Zoya is seen defending her husband while Aditya is doubting his wife, it will be interesting to see the way the story comes about. Also, with Yash and Puja dead in the first episode, the way their characters progress in the show will be integral and a worthy watch.

The transformation of Jennifer - From Maya in Beyhadh to Zoya in Bepannaah

In Beyhadh, Jennifer was the obsessive lover while in Bepannaah she is Zoya, the tender and affectionate wife to Aditya; and that we think is going to be some transformation for not just her but for the viewers as well. In fact, Jennifer also stated in the interview that it is a challenge for her to make the viewers get over Maya and bring that love to Zoya.

Harshad's comeback - Or at least, return to TV after a long time

Fans of Harshad have been eagerly waiting for Bepannaah as it has been a couple of years since we saw him on screen and now that he is back, and back with Jennifer, we are excited about how the chemistry unfolds.

The show - Treatment and feel
Coming from the makers of Beyhadh itself, the direction and the backdrop of the show in general is impressive and considering the fact how the audience cannot get over Beyhadh, we think Cinevistaas will do complete justice to the kind of hopes that ride on this one. And of course, with a time slot like that, we are hoping that the show garners numbers as much as it does appreciation.
