- Ever since the serial in being telecasted the people particularly in several villages in Karnataka erecting the banners and buntings have celebrated it as fest and have welcomed the move.But, the telecasting of the serial on the life of the visionary has not gone well with a section of people. Hunsur clarified that the serial would not be stopped and continue to be telecasted despite the threatening calls and messages.

The popularity of the show is such that people from a village in South Karnataka had submitted a plea to officials to avoid power cuts during its airtime.

- Karnataka: Calls to Stop Telecast of Mahanayaka Serial based on life of Ambedkar. Mr Hunsur taking to twitter handle disclosed that he had received threat calls from unidentified persons who sought for stopping the telecast of the serial.
