  • Bengali New TV Show ‘Tumpa Autowali’ is the remake of Kannada show ‘Mithuna Raashi’?
About the Show:

  • Not many are aware of the fact that ‘Tumpa Autowali’ is the remake of hit Kannada soap opera ‘Mithuna Raashi’.
  • Popular Kannada artists Swaminathan Anantharaman and Vaishnavi entertained the audiences as lead characters Mithuna and Raashi in the hit show.
  • Launched in 2019, the Kannada TV serial successfully ran for 3 years and ‘inspired’ the makers to remake it in Gujarati (Rashi Rikshawwali), Marathi (Jeev Majha Guntala), and then Bengali.
  • That’s not all! It airs a dubbed version in Odia and after the success of ‘Tumpa Autowali’, the makers are set to launch it in Hindi too. The upcoming TV show ‘Saavi Ki Savaari’. The upcoming Hindi show will feature actors Samridhi Shukla and Farmaan Haidar.

  • Protagonist Tumpa, who drives an auto to make the ends meet, has managed to win the hearts of Bengali audience with her devil may care attitude.
  • TV show ‘Tumpa Autowali’, for which writer N.K Salil is penning the story, has kept the audience glued to the screen with its engaging drama, catchy dialogues, and frequent twists.
Star Cast:
  • Actress Dona Bhowmik is playing the titular role while debutante Sayan Bose is essaying the male lead.

In the telly world, a hit daily soap enjoys its remake in several other languages too. In the recent past, Bengali TV has seen remakes of Malayalam (Karuthamuthu as Anurager Chowa), which has also been remade in several other languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi.
  • Non-fiction show Ismart Jodi also has several versions in different languages and managed to entertain the viewers with some high dose of entertainment just like the original version in Telugu.
