About the Special Show:
- ‘Evergreen Bappi Da’, a musical tribute to singer-composer Bappi Lahiri, will be aired September 11.
- The musical extravaganza will feature some of the hit songs of Bappi Lahiri that made the nation groove with its peppy tune. Some of the popular artists will feature in the show.
Songs, Dances and much more:
- Snippets of Bappi Lahiri’s old performances will take the audience on a nostalgic trip.
- From
‘Mera Dil Gaye Ja’, ‘Ami Kolkatar Rosogolla’, ‘Chirodini Tumi Je Amar’
the special musical tribute, will feature many of his hit songs from
Hindi and Bengali films that are equally popular now just like they were
at the time of release.
- Former participants of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, Ankita Bhattacharyya, Snigdhajit Bhowmik and others will be seen performing some of Bappi Lahiri’s evergreen songs.
- Film actress Subhashree Ganguly will also be a part of this special TV show. She will be seen setting the stage ablaze with her dance performance to the peppy song ‘Ami Kolkatar Rosogolla’.
The eminent singer, composer and record producer, who made disco popular in Indian movie music, is fondly known as ‘Disco King’. Besides Bollywood and Tollywood, he scored songs in other regional languages including Telugu, Kannada and others. He has given record numbers of musical hits.- He passed away this year in February due to complications from Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.
- His sudden and shocking demise left the music industry and his numerous fans across the world deeply saddened.
