the past few months, a number of Bengali shows ended their journey.
While a few projects like ‘Bouma Ekghor’, ‘Amar Sona Chander Kona’
wrapped up within a few months of the launch, popular shows like ‘Mon
Phagun’ and ‘Uma’ also ended sooner than expected.
- Since
months, rumours were rife that TV show ‘Pilu’ is also likely to wrap up
soon after Durga Puja. Although the makers are still tight-lipped, the
latest report indicates the show is ending pretty soon. In fact, the
team is likely to wrap up their shoot within this month. The cast and
crew, however, had anticipated the end.
About the Show:
- ‘
Pilu’, which had set the hopes quite high with its ensemble cast, interesting lead pair and use of music in the storyline, has been lagging in terms of TRP. - It features Gourab Roy Chowdhury and newbie Megha Daw as the lead jodi. Gourab is a very popular face on Bengali TV. However, this is Megha’s first show. She was a contestant of ‘Dance Bangla Dance Season 11’ and bagged the show even before the reality show wrapped up its journey.
- While
'Pilu' had a good start and managed to woo the audience with beautiful
shooting location, interesting shoot taking and frequent twists, the
storyline became quite predictable. Concentrating on Ranja and Mallar’s
(played by Idhika Paul and Dhrubo Sarkar) relationship couldn’t help the
show in terms of TRP either.
