- Karthigai Deepam serial opportunity, Abitha referred me for the audition. I sent my photo for the Maari serial. The director of 'Maari Serial' said that they wanted a more mature person. After that, when this project came up, they remembered that I had come during the shoot of Maari serial, and that's why they called me now.
Arthika said Karthigai Deepam is the life of a woman born with a dark skin tone. Despite being dark, the girl has good singing skills. A rich man uses this singing talent.- Karthigai Deepam is an 2022 Indian Tamil-language television drama airing on Zee Tamil.
- Based on Bengali-language Zee Bangla's drama series Krishnakoli written by Ayan Chakraborty, it tells a story of a Deepa, a dark-skinned girl, who sets out to remove stigma attached to colour. She marries Karthikeyan and faces discrimination due to her complexion.
- It starred Karthik Raj and Arthika in lead role and Directed by V. Sathasivam. It premiered on Zee Tamil on 5 December 2022.
- Zee Bangla's fiction Krishnakoli was remade on Zee Telugu on 2021 the title name as Krishna Tulasi.
New Story, Plot:
- The story revolves around Deepa (Arthika) is a young, dusky girl, who faces discrimination because of her skin color. However, she is talented and sets out on a journey, to create an identity for herself. She believes that her complexion is akin to Lord Kartikeyan's complexion. Her life changes after marriage when she goes on to make a career in music. Deepa changes her life drastically.

- About her TV debut as 'Deepa' and the difference between TV and movies 'Deepa' was my first role in the television industry. I'm glad I could get an important role for my debut. To me both small screen and big screen are the same. However, I feel conveying different shades and moods on small screen is extremely difficult.
- Deepa's childhood, My native state is Kerala, and I completed my schooling and college in Kerala. I didn’t think anything of this while reading. When I was working for a company, a team of directors who came there saw me and asked if I was interested in acting in cinema. But then I didn’t understand. My family situation was similar to that of a normal girl.
- My family said the industry is very bad and there is no safety for girls. But the director's team gave a guarantee to my family. After that, I acted in a Malayalam film. Before this opportunity, I had never thought of entering the film industry.
- First experience in front of the camera, When I stood in front of the camera for the first time, I was a little afraid of what everyone would think when I was going to give the shot. So, I don’t get any dialogue or expressions in the first shot. But the team members supported me, and I ended up performing well after that. The first film was like this, and in the second film I acted with Thambi Ramaiah sir. I was able to perform well also because of his support.
- Unforgettable experience while shooting, While we were shooting near Cuddalore, some people were drinking there. At that time, they said they were shooting a fight scene here. But we came to know later that it wasn't any movie shoot but a real fight between the people. I don’t know if they hit or punched anyone, some people ran away with blood on their hands. We thought it was all for shooting. But only after they left that we were told it was a real fight, and we got scared.
- About playing the female lead in a serial for the first time, This is the first time I'm playing a lead in a daily soap. It revolves around my character, Deepa, their bond and problems. My on-screen partner is Karthick Raj, sir. And also, I want to thank all my directors for giving me the opportunity.
