Jha is returning to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 to reprise one of
television’s most memorable antagonists, Tripti Virani. The
sharp-tongued and fiercely ambitious character, who could take on the
entire Virani family without batting an eyelid, is set to enter the
ongoing second season.
Tripti was far from a one-dimensional vamp. Calculating and unpredictable, she constantly shifted loyalties to serve her own interests, making her impossible to trust. She thrived on manipulating situations, exposing long-buried family secrets and driving wedges within the Virani household. Her unapologetic confidence, fiery confrontations and knack for staying one step ahead cemented her place among Indian television’s most memorable negative characters.
In another development, Shagun Sharma has bid farewell to Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 after the show’s 10-year leap. The actress had taken a break from the family drama a few months ago to participate in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, and her journey on the show has now come to an end.
Announcing her exit on Instagram, Shagun shared a series of photos from the sets along with a heartfelt note. She expressed gratitude to producer Ekta Kapoor and co-stars Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay for guiding and supporting her throughout her stint on the show. She also thanked them for helping her grow as an actor and said playing Pari Virani would always remain one of the most special experiences of her career.
She also wrote that she feels honoured to have been part of a show with such a rich legacy.
