Kunal Kohli to judge NDTV Prime's Ticket To Bollywood

Filmmaker Kunal Kohli who started his career on television is back on the home medium judging a new show on NDTV.

Shedding light on his renewed relationship with the home-viewing medium Kunal says, “I am going to be seen on Ticket To Bollywood every weekday at 9 pm. I will be a judge on the show along with Mukesh Chabria and Mahima Chowdhary. It’s a talent-hunt show on NDTV Prime. We’re supposed to find one male and one female star aspirant.”

Kunal says the two winners would feature in a film. He is enjoying the stint on television.

Says the filmmaker, “It’s quite refreshing to be back on television. I feel at home. This time I am on a better wicket. A show like this gives you a chance to connect with your fans and to connect with youngsters who wish to be part of the entertainment industry.”

Kunal feels it’s an advantage for a filmmaker to be seen on television. “What television does is to get you exposure. It also gets you invited as a celebrity guest for functions all over the country. So as a perk you get to travel all over the country.”

Sony Entertainment Television’s newly launched show Encounter (Endemol India) is based on encounters that happened in the country and the flashback story behind each such case. The concept indeed is intriguing and the icing on the cake is certainly Manoj Bajpayee, who, with his enigmatic persona, adds an extra flavour of mystery to the show’s overall ambience.

After Tellychakkar.com reported that the first episode of the serial would based on urban gangster Manya Surve, the second episode of the same will be based on D-company ace shooter Feroz Konkani, who is said to have killed BJP leader Ramdas Nayak.

Now, we have learnt that two handsome hunks of television namely Eijaz Khan (last seen in Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed) and Chetan Hasraj (currently seen in Zee TV’s Jodha Akbar) have been roped in for its upcoming episode.

More info on their roles is yet to filter in as details have not yet been locked in by the makers.

For now, we have got to know that both the actors have confirmed participation and will soon start shooting.

To know more details we tried calling both Chetan and Eijaz but they remained unavailable for comment.

Durga's quest to prove Dev innocent begins in Ek Hasina Thi

A strengthening power is bestowed to people who are in love and the feisty Durga (Sanjeeda Sheikh) will be seen working her way towards proving her husband Dev (Bhuvnesh Mann) innocent in Star Plus’ Ek Hasina Thi (Cinevistaas Productions).

As seen so far, Sakshi (Simone Singh) had planned an attack on Raima (Kishwer Merchantt) leaving her in coma. Dev who had been around the location was caught by the police and Sakshi accused him of the evil deed.

With the case all set to appear on case, Durga will be left in a lurch trying to gather evidences to prove Dev innocent. Knowing well that Sakshi visits Raima to make sure she doesn’t get well soon, Durga will plan a trap to catch Sakshi red handed bribing the doctors.

Shares a source, “Durga will also meet Raima’s maid who had been the sole witness to the attack and try to persuade her to appear in the court.”

Will the maid agree on speaking on Dev’s side? Will Durga manage to convict Sakshi in the case?

Ek Hasina Thi or Kumkum Bhagya: Which show will click...let's find out

With the onset of summer season, two new shows are to be launched in the coming week.

While the first is Ekta Kapoor’s Kumkum Bhagya starring Shabbir Ahluwalia, Sriti Jha, Mrunal Thakur among others, the second is Star Plus’ Ek Hasina Thi (Cinevistaas Limited) that has Sanjeeda Sheikh and Vatsal Seth in the lead.

From the promos both the shows look very refreshing and till now have been garnering great response from the masses.

But will this appreciation continue or will it see a downward slide?

Let’s ask our in-house tarot card reader Munisha Khatwani and ask her to predict the future of the shows in mention.

Shared Munisha, “Firstly, let’s start with Kumkum Bhagya that has got the Card of Hierophant which means that it will do really well. Right now, Ekta is in her best phase and in a beneficial period. While the male lead of show Shabbir has got the Card of World, which connotes that he will earn a lot of appreciation, Sriti, the female lead, has got the card of Two of Cups which again means that the show will prove to be a lucky one.”

“Now coming to Ek Hasina Thi, it has got the card of Two of Pentacles which says that the show would be an average one. Sanjeeda has got Sun while Vatsal has the Card of Eight of Pentacles. This means that the two will have to work really hard but slowly and steadily they will connect with the masses.”

Simone Singh goes Vintage for EK Hasina Thi

Side swept curls, pearl strings, chiffon sarees and lace blouses! That’s what comprises Simone Singh’s new look in Star Plus’ latest offering Ek Hasina Thi (Cinevistaas). Simone, who is making a comeback on small screen as an affluent and powerful Sakshi Goenka in the above show, has been actively involved in the styling of her on screen character.

“My character Sakshi Goenka is quite the style icon. The makers wanted Sakshi’s look to be distinct on screen. Her persona is contemporary and elite and she has an aura of strength and grace. Hence, we decided to go vintage chic with my look. There is a classic charm and mystique around Sakshi Goenka. I have been getting a lot of admiration for my look and I'm delighted that my biggest admirer is my husband,” says Simone.

Vintage or no vintage, we are sure that more than her looks, Simone would steal the show with her killer smile only! The show airs from 14 April at the 8pm slot.

Bhuvnesh Mann to play the 'good samaritan' in Ek Hasina Thi on Star Plus

Ek Hasina Thi, the show produced by Cinevistaas Ltd. for Star Plus is touted to be a major breakthrough in fiction, in terms of its unique story line and presentation. After three long years of planning, the show will finally launch on 14 April and will take the 8 PM slot on Star Plus.

And making a comeback to television will be actor Bhuvnesh Mann, through Ek Hasina Thi.

Bhuvnesh who has shows like Dahejj and Dehleez to his credit had stayed away from television owing to his business setup for the last few years. He was last seen in a cameo role in Star Plus’ Maayke Se Bandhi Dor.
As per sources, he will play the parallel lead, and will be the only positive character in the show. He will be the cousin of the antagonist Vatsal Seth. Rudra, the character he will portray will have a very important role to play.

Ek Hasina Thi will have Sanjeeda Sheikh as the female protagonist, while Vatsal Seth will play the anti-hero. Ayub Khan, Simone Singh, Amit Behl, Kishwer Merchant will play pivotal roles.

We hear that the actor has got finalized after an extensive search. He will start shoot in the days to come.
We tried contacting Bhuvnesh, but could not get him even after repeated attempts.

Star Plus presents 'Ek Hasina Thi'

Star Plus’ latest offering - Ek Hasina Thi is a story unlike any other on Indian Television. Set in the eastern megapolis of Kolkata, this is not a revenge story but a story of a woman seeking justice for a crime committed in the past. However, her methods of claiming justice are unconventional as she steps out of the shackles of traditionalism and utilizes her Mind to conquer Might!

The fight to deliver justice for an inhuman crime is a universally moving theme. It is also equally true that 'When all else fails and one is pushed to the brink, one is compelled to take an extreme action’. Ek Hasina Thi tracks the journey of such a woman Durga (played by Sanjeeda Sheikh), who has decided to become an active agent of change to achieve her motive of justice. Durga is not only rich, brave, focused with a heart of gold but is also strong, powerful, calculating and manipulative, using her intelligence to stay a step ahead of her adversaries. She doesn’t mind stepping over the boundaries of ‘right’ and flirt with the dark side, but she always remains within the confines of good, never losing touch with her humanity.

However, Durga’s fight is not easy as facing her are the extremely powerful and influential Goenka family – the main antagonists and the target of Durga’s actions. Vatsal Seth plays the role of Shaurya Goenka who is the rich, womanizing scion of the Goenka clan. A playboy and brat who is not used to hearing the word NO, Shaurya knows that with his family’s influence, he can get away with anything. Standing by Shaurya through thick and thin are his parents - Sakshi and Rajnath Goenka (essayed by Simone Singh and Ayub Khan), whose financial muscle and stronghold over the city automatically make them both a revered and feared opponent. Durga’s task is further complicated when she faces multiple hurdles as relationships, romance and her own emotional conflicts play a role in making her question her actions.

Sunidhi Chauhan sings the title track of Star Plus' Ek Hasina Thi

Star Plus’ yet to be launched romantic thriller Ek Hasina Thi (Cinevistaas Productions) starring popular television faces Sanjeeda Sheikh, Simone Singh, Ayub Khan and Vatsal Seth has been the talk of the town. And the latest is that the makers have roped in Bollywood sensation Sunidhi Chauhan to sing the title track of the show.

The song is a fusion of semi classical Indian music that has been created by music director Tapas and written by Manoj Yadav.

“Sunidhi’s voice adds to the intrigue that Ek Hasina Thi promises. She brings together experience and attitude that perfectly fits the song,” said Tapas.

“I have just recorded the song and I must add it’s amazing. Bollywood songs gave me a name and I am sure that this song for Ek Hasina Thi will be much appreciated by the audience too,” averred Sunidhi.
The show that will take up the slot of Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi…Meri Bhabhi is a finite series thriller.

Anil Kapoor, Gutthi, Dadi, Bharti, Mika, Shaan shoot for Jhalak finale

Today is a big day. Today the filming is on for the finale episode of Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 (BBC Worldwide Media).

Yes, today the winner of the dance extravaganza series will be announced.

Out of the final four contestants, namely Karan Tacker, Shakti Mohan, Ashish Sharma and Mouni Roy, inside sources inform that Mouni has a high chance of kissing the coveted trophy. Well, whoever clinches victory, end of the day, everyone’s a winner.

We will reveal the name of the victor in coming time, so no spoiler alert as of now. But for all our lovable readers, we have some info from the sets.

Anil ‘jhakkas’ Kapoor will be seen in the finale episode promoting his daughter Sonam Kapoor’s upcoming film Khoobsurat.

She does need a bit of push, given her…well…you all know the best!

Moving on, Comedy Nights avatars Gutthi, Dadi will also sprinkle laughter on the show.

Mansi Srivastava 'declines' Jhalak offer to concentrate on her show Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se

Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is the popular show that is in demand right now!! Every actor who is passionate about dance wants to showcase his/her dancing skill on this big platform.

And actor Mansi Shrivastava, who essays the lead Shivani in Zee TV’s Do Dil Bandhe Ek Dori Se
(FilmFarm India), would also like to do the same one day!! However, the actress has gone on to reject the plump offer that came her way as of now.

Well, hear it from Mansi herself.

Says Mansi, “Yes, it is true that I was approached for this season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. I would have loved to take up the dance reality, as I am very passionate about dance. But at the moment, I am busy with my show Do Dil, and will want to concentrate on it. We hardly get time after shooting for long hours, and this was the only reason why I rejected Jhalak.”

Going further, Mansi states, “I will want to take up Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa or any other dance reality show for the matter, when I am ready to devote my cent percent to dance. I hope that a day will come in the near future.”

For the uninitiated, another popular name of Zee TV, Roopal Tyagi (lead in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke) refused the Jhalak offer this year, as she wanted to concentrate on her show.

The countdown for Season 7 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on Colors (BBC Worldwide Media) has begun. And one hears of various celebrities from different walks of life being approached to waltz into the new season of this very popular dance show, which was won by Drashti Dhami last year.

While names like Daksha Sheth, Shobhaa De, Sanaya Irani, Honey Singh, Karan Kundra, Jeeva Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Karan Tacker, Kunal Karan Kapoor, and Atif Aslam are being tossed up as possible contestants on the new season, we can reveal with full certainty that one more actor has been finalized for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 7.

Purab Kohli has said yes to his participation in Season 7 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa thereby setting the ball rolling for the inclusion of other celebrity wannabe dancers on the show.

While Purab remained unavailable for comment, sources close to the actor confirmed that the deal was signed earlier this week.

As reported by Tellychakkar.com, other celebs who apparently have been roped in are Mahek Chahal, VJ Andy, Sana Khan (Arjun fame), Roopal Tyagi and Rajneesh Duggal, as of now.

Now, more on the new season of Jhalak: the three judges Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D’Souza are back in the new season. But the anchors would change. While Kapil Sharma has moved far ahead of his anchoring days, Manish Paul too we hear, is in two minds about returning to his anchoring days and panting after Dixit poodle style.

Tanishaa Mukerji dons a glam avatar for Gangs of Hasseepur

Actress cum producer Tanishaa Mukerji, who got back to limelight via Bigg Boss, has extended her tryst with television as she will now be seen judging the comedy reality show Gangs of Hasseepur along with
Mandira Bedi. While Tanishaa had donned a beautiful Harsh Harsh dress at the press conference for the show, the actress has selected a Falguini and Shane Peacock dress to wear in one of the episodes of the show.

We love the hair up with the digital print dress. The cut of the dress is just right for Tanishaa's slim figure as the actress is looking fabulous after having lost oodles of weight in the Bigg Boss house.

Tanishaa Mukerji to judge, Ragini Khanna to host Zee TV's Gangs of Hasseepur

 

It’s evening time and the news desk at Tellychakkar.com got some exclusive dope.

Reporters have learnt from sources that actress Tanishaa Mukerji has shifted loyalty from Colors and gone on to sign a show with Zee TV.

The laugh-a-thon, produced by the channel’s in house production house, Esselvision, is titled rather creatively, Gangs of Hasseepur.

Tanisha, who shot back to limelight with Colors’ Bigg Boss 7 and for her alleged relationship with co contestant Armaan Kohli, will be seen as one of the judges in the show.

The other judge, as reported in the media, would be Mandira Bedi. Initially, Raveena Tandon’s name was tossed in the air as the second judge, but finally the makers decided to lock in the offer with Tanisha.
Will she make a good judge? Only time will tell. When buzzed Tanisha’s PR, she said she had no idea about it.

Furthermore, the show will be anchored by Ragini Khanna (Sasural Genda Phool, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa et al).

We spoke to Ragini who shared, “I am the solo host. The show is very different and I am looking forward to it.”

Gangs of Hasseepur’s concept is still being given a shape and it is said that comic contestants will come and perform gags having a social touch, may be in solo or in jodis.

Bharti, Suresh Menon, Raju Srivastav, Krushna Abhishek, among others are said to be some of the faces signed for the show which will go on air in the coming days and is expected to take a weekend slot.
