Bigg Boss Telugu season 5 which is set to premiere on September 5 (Sunday) has an interesting celebrity line-up this season. Sources close to the show confirmed that popular Social Media star Jaswanth Shanmukh, who shot to fame with Youtube Videos/Small Web series, is a part of the upcoming
season and is already quarantined at a posh hotel in Hyderabad along
with his co-contestants. However, an official confirmation on this is
expected only in the premiere episode.
- Shanmukh Jaswanth is a YouTube sensation and actor who is best known for appearing in the Hindi web series Men Will Be Men (2017) and Telugu web series The Software DevLOVEper (2020), Surya (2021). He is also known for uploading dance covers of various popular Telugu songs like You and Me, Guvva Gorinka, Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule, and Me Me on his YouTube channel.
- Shanmukh Jaswanth was born as Shanmukh Jaswanth Kandregula Instagram on Friday, 16 September 1994 (age 26 years; as of 2020), and he hails from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Although Shanmukh never pursued a professional dance course, since childhood, he was interested in performing arts.

Controversies:
- In March 2017, a complaint was filed against the short-film “Sita, I Am Not A Virgin,” starring Shanmukh Jaswanth, and his girlfriend Deepthi Sunaina. Reportedly, the complaint was lodged against the film as the title of the film triggered the anger of the Hindu community. In Hinduism, ‘Sita’ is a goddess and one of the central figures of the Hindu epic Ramayana, hence, using the phrase ‘I am not a virgin’ in the title hurt the sentiments of Hindus. While reciprocating the haters, Shanmukh said, Whatever is happening is ridiculous. Our aim was to send out a message. It is a bold subject, but there’s nothing controversial like people are making it out to be. Sita is just the name of a character, and the film has nothing to do with the Ramayana. Without watching the film, assumptions are being made based on the title. Later, the title was changed to Seetha I’m Not A Virgin (2017) to dismiss the charges.
- In February 2021, an FIR was registered against him for allegedly driving his vehicle under influence of alcohol and ended up damaging three vehicles, and injuring a biker.

- Shailaja Priya, She is a familiar face to the Telugu audiences; thanks to her notable supporting roles in successful Telugu films like Mirchi starring Prabhas, Anushka and others. She is a must mention in every list of the rumoured contestants of the season.
- Varshini Sounderajan, Rumour mill has it that this popular TV host is a part of the upcoming season 5 of Bigg Boss Telugu. However, close sources reveal that she has opted out of the show due to unknown reasons.
- Jaswanth Shanmukh, This social media influencer recently made headlines for being charged with drunken driving. He is now most likely to participate in the upcoming edition of Bigg Boss Telugu. The fact that social media influencers hogged limelight in BB Telugu 4 is fueling rumours about his participation in season 5. Notably, his rumoured bea Deepthi Sunaina was a contestant on Bigg Boss Telugu season 2.
