Bikram Betaal to feature late actress Pallavi Dey, Betaal, was originally shot in 2021 and is going to be aired more than one and a half years after its wrap-up. The show will feature a number of popular faces playing prominent roles including actress Pallavi Dey, who passed away a few months back. Pallavi will be seen playing a meaty role in the soon-to-be-launched show. Pallavi had shot for ‘Bikram Betaal’ much prior to committing ‘Mon Mane Na’, which unfortunately was her last television show. She finished the shooting for the Joy starrer television show before ‘Mon Mane Na’ was launched. Pallavi’s death was one of the shocking incidents that shook the industry as well as audience. She was found hanging from the ceiling in her Garfa flat in May. Later, police arrested her live-in boyfriend Sagnik in this case. The stories of ‘Bikram Betaal’ has been an essential part of childhood for many young kids in India. The stories weaved with a touch of Indian mythology and fantasy, have inspired makers to adapt it for TV shows and films. Ramanand Sagar produced TV show ‘Vikram Aur Betaal’, launched on DD National in 1985, received a good response. Later, it was aired yet again in 1988. Now, Bengali television is ready to adapt the stories of ‘Bikram-Betaal’.- Interestingly, the series was shot in 2021
and the makers were in talks with all leading channels for its telecast.
Finally, the Bengali television channel which airs daily soaps like
‘Gaatchora’, ‘Godhuli Alap’, ‘Anuraager Chowa’ and others, has finally
signed up. ‘Bikram Betaal’ will be launched on September 5 at an evening
timeslot.

- Notably, a number of fantasy-drama and mythological shows aired by this channel have enjoyed popularity. Be it Farhan Imroze and Rooqma Ray starrer ‘Kiranmala’, Rudrajit Mukherjee-Promita starrer ‘Saat Bhai Champa’ to the dubbed version of Hindi show ‘Radha Krishn’; fantasy and mythological shows enjoy a different fan base in Bengali television which is dominated by saas-bahu sagas these days.

about ‘Bikram Betaal’, the show will feature some of the very popular
artists playing different roles. Interestingly, Joy, who mired into a
controversy after allegedly hitting his ‘Jiyon Kathi’ co-star Aindrila
Sharma, will be seen on Bengali small screen after a long time. He was
reportedly banned for quite some time. Shubhasish, who is one of the
most talented artists of Tollywood, has been striking a fine balance
between his movie and TV commitments. The versatile actor, who mostly
does movies, had appeared on ‘Khelahghor’ earlier.
