pieces, family-drama, reality series to shows with a devotional touch,
Bengali audiences are set for some high voltage entertainment ahead.
- One
of the upcoming shows will feature actress Payel De in an interesting
role. Payel, one of the most popular actresses of Bengali small screen,
will be a part of upcoming television show ‘Ramprasad’, starring
Sabyasachi Chowdhury in the titular role.
- She will be seen as goddess Kali in the upcoming show. Payel is currently busy prepping up for her new show which has an ensemble cast including Sushmili Acharjee in the female lead. This is not the first time, she will be seen in a devotional show, she played Goddess Durga in mythological show ‘Maa Durga’, starring Rudrajit Mukherjee as lord Shiva. Payel, who has been a part of Bengali entertainment industry for a long time now, became a sensation with the success of Gourab Chatterjee, Sandipta Sen starrer ‘Durga’, followed by yet another hit show ‘Behula’. After that, the actress played versatile roles in different shows including ‘Tobu Mone Rekho’, ‘Chuni Panna’, ‘Desher Maati’ and recently concluded ‘Sona Roder Gaan’. Her last project (‘Sona Roder Gaan’), which was the Bengali remake of ‘Thodasa Baadal Thodasa Paani’, featured Rishi Koushik as the male lead. Rishi and Payel’s reel chemistry was the USP of the show besides having a stellar star cast. In the mean tile, Payel has already shot for the second season of web series ‘Indu’, which will stream soon.

- Sabyasachi Chowdhury has been approached for an upcoming TV show based on Sadhak Ramprasad’s life. Although the makers are keen on casting him, Sabyasachi is yet to make a decision.

Actor Sabyasachi Chowdhury, who became a household name playing Sadhak Bamakhyapa’s character in ‘Mahapeeth Tarapeeth’, has been approached by a leading Bengali TV channel for its new show. He is yet to make a decision on whether he would be taking up the project or not. The actor has kept himself away from the media glare after Aindrila Sharma’s demise last month. The actor, who met Aindrila while shooting for ‘Jhumur’ years back, stood by her and Sharma family like a rock. Despite having a busy shoot schedule, he travelled to Delhi frequently when Aindrila was receiving cancer treatment last year. Sabyasachi’s previous TV project ‘Mahapeeth Tarapeeth’ was having a successful run back then and Aindrila was diagnosed with lung cancer for the second time. He also helped Aindrila and her family during her recovery phase. He used to keep fans updated about Aindrila’s physical condition through social media posts as well. On November 1, Aindrila suffered a massive stroke causing brain haemorrhage. She was rushed to the hospital, where she underwent a critical surgery and was kept on ventilation. After putting up a brave fight in the hospital, the actress breathed her last on November 21. It was shocking news for everyone including numerous fans and industry peers of the actors, who had been constantly praying for Aindrila, in a response to Sabyasachi’s urge to pray for a ‘miracle’. Sabyasachi, who was supposed to get married to the actress next year, accompanied Aindrila’s family during the last rites. Sabyasachi decided to keep himself away from public platforms after the incident.- ‘Soudaminir Sansar’ fame Sushmili Acharjee teams up with Sabyasachi Chowdhury for a new show, Actor Sabyasachi Chowdhury is returning to the small screen with his new project ‘Ramprasad’. The period-drama, which has a devotional flavour, will feature young actress Sushmili Acharjee as the female lead. The young actress, who also impressed the audience in popular period-drama ‘Rani Rashmoni’, will essay Sadhak Ramprasad Sen’s wife Sarvani in the new television show. The makers were keen on casting Sabyasachi in the titular role while they were in search of a younger female artist, who would be perfect for Sarvani’s role. Sushmili impressed the makers during the look set. Sabyasachi, who took a brief hiatus after his girlfriend Aindrila Sharma’s demise, faced the camera recently and shot for the promo. After Aindrila’s demise on November 21, Sabyasachi kept himself away from the media glare. He is sporting a completely different look in the upcoming television project. Besides Sabyasachi’s clean-shaven look, the chemistry between Sabyasachi and Sushmili also caught the attention of the audience in the recently released promo. Speaking about Sushmili, she stepped into showbiz at an early age. When she played Satyabati in ‘Pratham Protishruti’, Sushmili was in class V. Her performance not only fetched her appreciation from the audience but also a new show (Soudaminir Sansar) as the female lead. Sushmili played a double role in comedy-drama ‘Soudaminir Sansar’, which featured Adhiraj Ganguly as the male lead.
