  • Keeping the trend of Bengali shows being remade in other languages, ‘Chuni Panna’, is all set for its Hindi remake as 'Meri Saas Bhoot Hai'.
  • Starring Annwesha Hazra, Dibyojyoti Dutta as a lead pair and senior artist Tulika Basu playing the role of ghost Panna, the TV show was launched in 2019.
  • It enjoyed a good fan base and was popular among both young viewers as well as adults.

  • Remember TV show ‘Chuni Panna’, which featured Tulika Basu, Annwesha Hazra, Dibyojyoti Dutta in lead roles? Well, the show is all set to have a Hindi remake soon.
  • Upcoming TV show 'Meri Saas Bhoot Hai' is the remake of 'Chuni Panna'.
  • The Bengali show had managed to catch the attention of the Bengali audience with its interesting storyline and stellar starcast, which included Debdut Ghosh, Moyna Mukherje, Parthasarathi Deb, Payel De, Oindrila Saha, Gulshanara Khatun, Anindita Das, Arijita Mukhopadhyay, Ayesha Bhattacharya, Sourav Chatterjee and many others in prominent roles.
  • While Annwesha and Dibyojyoti’s cute chemistry melted the hearts of Bengali audience actress Tulika Basu stole hearts playing the role of a ghost who resides in ‘Abhay Bhaban’ aka Mullickbari for decades and speaks in Bangal Bhasha.
New Story:
  • The story revolved around happy-go-lucky Chuni whose only interest was in ghosts.
  • The sole aim of her life soon turned into a mission to meet a ghost.
  • Over-enthusiastic Chuni’s wish is granted when Panna, the ghost whose sole purpose is to bother the members of Mallickbari so that they leave the house, accidentally meets her and learns about her (Chuni’s) wish.
  • She decides to teach Chuni a lesson, after learning that she (Chuni) not only wishes to meet a ghost but also pet it by putting inside a jar. Panna casts her magic spell because of which, Chuni gets married to Nirbhik, one of the members of Mullick household.
  • Right opposite to his name, story’s male protagonist Nirbhik suffers from pantophobia and is afraid of almost every possible things, especially ghosts.
  • After wedding, Chuni, Panna and Nirbhik start a roller coaster ride. Panna’s sole aim becomes teaching new bahu Chuni a lesson. Chuni, on the other hand, tries her best to foil Panna’s conspiracies. She also keeps her in-laws’ on their toes with over-enthusiastic behaviour and mischievous activities. Things get worse for Nirbhik, who fails to understand how to handle Panna and Chuni.
  • Though ‘Chuni Panna’ had a brief run on Bengali TV, and concluded its journey sooner than expected, the show received huge response from the audience. From young viewers, to adults, the show enjoyed an impressive fanbase. ‘Chuni Panna’ was equally popular in Bangladesh.
