Star Bharat - Chandrashekhar
#PromoReview: Sta's trailer is intriguing!

Star Bharat
just put out a trailer of Chandrashekhar, an upcoming show that is touted to be the story of the popular historic figure. We already know that Dev Joshi of Baal Veer fame will play the lead role further ahead in the series but for now, little is known of the look and feel of the show.

The trailer is quite a revealing peek into the show. Here's what it looks like-

The Promo
The trailer begins with balck and white scenes of people stepping back in fear with a voice-over for narration. It then goes on to reveal a small child who stares into the eyes of fear as he picks up a catapult in defiance. The backdrop has ruins and riots. We are given the first look of a young Chandrashekhar in this promo.

The Good
We do see the theme of rebellion crying out from the fences and it works well for the plot revolves around a revolutionary. Another element that makes the promo effective is the multi-faceted representation of Indians. The teaser has a brief montage of local Indians and it presents a relatable sentiment.

The Bad
The teaser gives us no indication of what kind of show the audience could look forward to. We know it's based on the Indian freedom fighter but the fragmented look doesn't show signs of linking the people depicted in it with the story.

The Verdict
We enjoyed the subtle tone of rebellion in the clip. The child actor featured in the promo does a pretty good job and does so quite naturally. The relatability factor in the 45 seconds long video works in their favour and might get a few people to look out for the show. All in all, it's a neat package.

Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai promo: Namit Khanna of Twisted fame romances newbie Palak Jain in this modern love story – watch video

Check out the new promo

After Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Sony TV is coming up with another romantic show. It is produced by Dilip Jha, who made the hugely popular show, Ek Duje Ke Vaaste starring Nikita Dutta and Namik Paul. It ended rather abruptly much to the shock and despair of the huge fandom. Now, the producer is back with his new show, Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai. It stars newcomers Namit Khanna and Palak Jain. The show is based in Delhi and will be shot there for the greater part. It is a love story between two contrasting personalities with a modern vibe.

Namit Khanna is a known name in the world of ramp modelling. He was walked for all top designers including Sabyasachi. He was last seen as the debonair businessman in Vikram Bhatt’s Twisted opposite Nia Sharma. The handsome hunk is blessed with a ***y baritone as well. He is cast with newcomer Palak Jain, who was also in the reckoning for a couple of other shows.

The channel will release a trailer in the next few days. We are guessing it might replace Haasil on the 9.30pm slot. The show, which was launched on a gala scale failed to attract viewers due to its drab story-line. People could not connect to the plot and the characters. Bepannaah Review

And the wait for the countless Jennifer Winget, Harshad Chopra and Sehban Azim fans is over, with Colors having released the first full fledged promo of Bepannaah. Ever since the cast was finalised by the makers, fans have been trying their best to get their hands on any information available.

Well, last year itself, individual promos focussing on the back stories of Zoya (Jennifer Winget) and Aditya (Harshad Chopra) were released and they created the much required buzz. And now that the full promo is ready, here's what we thought of it.

The Promo:

In a sequence of events continuing from where the previous two promos left, Aditya and Zoya receive calls and reach the local police stations only to find their respective better halves dead.

While both Zoya and Aditya are beside themselves with grief and are reminiscing their happy moments, first Aditya and then Zoya discover that their spouses were having an affair with each other, when the cloth covering their dead bodies blows away from the wind and they see them holding hands.

While Aditya loses his temper and walks out of the Police station, Zoya completely breaks down and also loses her mind. And in their state of despair, Zoya and Aditya cross paths to which we are sure will be an epic 'bepannah' love story.
What we liked:

While the concept of their spouse dying and then the other person falling in love is something that we've borne witness to already, the fresh angle that the makers have added here is how the other partners discover after their better halves' (Namita Dubey and Sehban Azim) deaths that they were having an affair.
And as complex as this situation can get, it would be interesting to see how the makers plan to execute Aditya and Zoya's complicated love story.
What we did not like:

What may not work for the show is this promo has revealed it all. The entire core plotline is out and frankly we feel that the audience could have been sufficed with a little less of information.
And in continuation to the above point, now that the audience knows all about the show, the entire pressure now rests on the chemistry between Jennifer Winget and Harshad Chopra (which we are confident enough that they will deliver).
Verdict:

Well with many hits and a few misses, Bepannaah still remains one of Colors' much awaited shows. Also, the audience eagerly awaits actors Jennifer Winget and Harshad Chopra to team up and give them yet another iconic pairing.

Kapil Sharma's NEW show

Kapil Sharma's NEW show India-Forums

The Kapil Sharma Show had been Sony TV's golden goose for garnering TRPs and its massive fan-following is still around. In spite of the rumours and feuds, the show's popularity has remained intact. And now the comedy king is making his return with a new game show on Sony TV and the first teaser for the same is out.
Here's what we thought of it-
The Promo

The promo begins with a fun, relatable squabble with a rickshaw wala as Kapil Sharma tries to convince him to take him to his destination. On being dismissed (like every other mumbaikar) by the driver, Kapil claims to get a call from Sony TV and tells the driver he will regret not driving him. He coolly whistles for a bus and hops on it saying "Mai jaa nahi raha, laut kar aa raha hu" with the driver following, realising his blunder.
During the span of 35 seconds Kapil Sharma does his signature comic gestures and declares his return.
The Good

The teaser is symbolic of him being dismissed as a run-over star and an announcement of his return to the top. We love how smartly the teaser is written and placed. Kapil Sharma has gone back staging his teaser around a rickshaw (in one of the promos for The Kapil Sharma Show had him and his co-stars including Sunil Grover, Alis Asgar and Kiku Sharda boarding a rickshaw), but this time, by himself and he manages pretty well. His sassy comments and resolve to strike back come across clearly and the promo fulfils its purpose.
The Bad
The teaser gives us no further information of how the comedy star plans on rising to the top yet again. At the same time, it may come back to bite him in case the show doesn't make its mark.
The Verdict

We love how light and relatable the promo is, it has no indication of which direction the show is headed in, but it's definitely towards the top. As a promo, this one succeeds in its open-ended interaction with a viewer. If the show keeps up this tone, it might just qualify as an evolved comedy.
