  The show which deals with the life of a bold and compassionate girl, who is brought up by a single mom, was off to a good start.
• The premiere episode introduced Janaki, played by Sreelekshmi. In the initial scenes, she was portrayed as a helpless docile pregnant woman, who got cheated by a man. However, as the episode progressed she was established as one of the strongest characters in the show. The sequence in which she portrayed the labor pains of a pregnant woman, is worth a mention. Also, the character's evolution from a hopeless woman to a bold single mother was well played by the actress.
• The transformation from the silhouette of a newborn baby to young Daya, played by Pallavi Gowda, was an impressive introduction. The non-Malayali actress has put up a decent performance.
• The visuals and background music have set the mood right for the narrative.
• Daya's character sketch was established well. From doing odd jobs, supporting her family to serving food to street people, her character had a realistic portrayal.
• Besides the episode's slow pace and lack of engaging content in the middle of the episode, the last shot of Daya robbing a gold chain from a jewelry shop added an element of curiosity in the viewers.
