Mystery of 'Yeti' to get solved in Star Plus' Everest

The mystifying creature Yeti has been creating quite a buzz among the expeditioners in Star Plus’ Everest (Ashutosh Gowariker Productions). And now in the coming days the mystery about this monster will finally get solved in the show.

Any guesses what could be the secret about this creature?

Shockingly, it will be none other than Sherpa Phurba, who had been the one helping the mountaineers in their mission.

Shares a source, “After Yeti attack on Aakash (Rohan Gandotra), Anjali (Shamata Anchan) and Arjun (Sahil Salathia) will plan to find out about the Yeti by following his footsteps.”
The trio will reach a cave and wait for Yeti and to their shock the Sherpa will emerge from the cave and will himself be stunned and embarrassed to see them there.

He will then go on to inform that he has wanted to protect Everest who they believe to be their God.
Not wanting it to get polluted, abused and exploited further he has been trying to scare all expeditioners away from the mountains.

How will the others react on this revelation? Will Phurba’s act get him punished?

Roadies fame Sonel Singh and Surabhi Prabhu to feature in Star Plus' Everest

The young brigade that has been selectively hand-picked by the ace film maker Ashutosh Gowariker for his upcoming show on Star Plus, Everest certainly looks fresh with enormous talent.

In addition to the lead faces Shamata Anchan, Sahil Salathia and Rohan Gandotra, Roadies fame Sonel Singh will play a pivotal role in the show. Along with her will be seen yet another model and dancer Surabhi Prabhu.

Sonel Singh, a popular model and actress was a participant in the fifth season of MTV Roadies. In Everest, she will play a negative shaded character, who would be a colleague of the female lead Shamata, at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) at Uttarkashi wherein they would get trained in mountaineering.

When contacted, Sonel told us, “I am bound by a contract, and I cannot speak about the show now.”

We tried calling Surabh too, but could not get through to her.

Everest will launch on Star Plus on 3 November and will take the 10 PM slot.

A project of this scale demands a cast who will do complete justice to the roles endowed on them and Ashutosh Gowariker hand-picked the actors for each role after an extensive search. The series has brought together some of the finest artistes from both Bollywood and the Indian Television industry. The show launches Shamata Anchan as Anjali Singh Rawat, the gutsy girl who is willing to climb Mt Everest in order to win her father’s love and respect. The 2 male leads of the show are Sahil Salathia as Arjun Sabharwal and Rohan Gandotra as Akash Joshi.

The stellar cast also includes Suhasini Mulay, Mohan Kapoor, Milind Gunaji, Rajat Kapoor, Kishori Shahane and Manish Choudhary.

Hamari Sister Didi to fight against 'illegal abortion'

Sony PAL’s show with a medical background, Hamari Sister Didi, is a mixture of drama, love, saas-bahu and social issues making it a refreshing watch.

Now the DJ’s A Creative Unit show will present an important issue in India- illegal abortion. As viewers would know our country still takes woman as a bane and believes in killing unborn baby girl while in their mothers’ womb.

Soon in the show, the team at the hospital will be seen pressing the issue and showcasing how wrong this act is. Dr Karan (Bhanu Uday) who although is a practical and ‘not so’ emotional person will be at the forefront when it would come to this problem..

Shares a source, “A woman will come to the hospital and get her sonography done to determine the sex of her unborn child. As she will get to know that it is a girl, she along with her family would ask for an abortion done.”

This is when Dr Karan would get to know about the issue and rush to stop the illegal practice running in the hospital. He would go on to explain the couple how their act was a complete wrong move.

How will Dr Karan convince the couple? Will they understand this important issue?

Karan to get shot; Amrita to operate in Sony PAL's Hamari Sister Didi

Sony PAL’s Hamari Sister Didi (DJ’s A Creative Unit), that captures Amrita’s (Pariva Pranati) challenges to manage her husband’s hospital, will see an interesting twist in the coming episodes.
Viewers will get to see a businessman getting admitted in the hospital to save himself from extortion by goons. To avoid them he would feign illness and hide. But the goons realizing the truth will reach the hospital and try to take him away with them.

This is when Amrita would come forward and protect the man stating that he is their patient and their responsibility. The goons would not relent and a fight will take place between them.

Shares a source, “The goons will then point their gun towards Amrita asking her to get away and let them do their job. Since she wouldn’t the goons will shoot her.”

But voila!!! Karan (Bhanu Uday), in a moment of heroism, will take the bullet himself and save Amrita. All hospital authorities will get shocked seeing this.

And Amrita, although only a nurse, will take the chance and operate Karan with no other doctors being available.

Will Amrita manage to save Karan?

Sarthak to kidnap Prateek in MTV Fanaah 2

MTV Fanaah (BBC Worldwide) is in news for its early closure, as per reports. Reason?  The show’s lead ‘busy’ Karan Kundra has no time to shoot. However, industry insiders inform Tellchakkar.com that the makers are trying to risk with a script without the hunky actor and keep the show afloat for another couple of months.

And standing true to this fact, the creative team has churned out an interesting track.

Sarthak (Yuvraj Thakur) will use an experimental medicine on himself causing him to get devious fits wherein he will be acting all negative. To find a solution on how to get back to being normal, he will be seen using all tactics to find out remedies. Soon the boy will realise that the hospital has a secret medicine that can heal him.

Shares a source, “Sarthak will go ahead and ask the hospital authorities for the medicine to be used in some experiments. He would be informed that the medicines are highly confidential and risky, and it cannot be shared with him.”

To find a solution to his worries, Sarthak will now kidnap Prateek (Ankit Patidar), the hospital trustee’s son, and ask for the ‘secret’ medicines in return. The other members of their group, unaware of Sarthak’s involvement in the kidnapping will decide to go on a mission to save Prateek.

Will they be able to get Prateek safely? Will Sarthak harm his friend for his selfish motive?

Ayaz Ahmed and Scarlett Rose in MTV Fanaah 2; to air from 25 October

The season 2 of MTV Fanaah is all set to hit TV screens and the buzz about the show is definitely quite loud. After roping in Bollywood siren Meghna Naidu in the season as the main antagonist, the makers of the show, (BBC Worldwide Media) has now got Ayaz Ahmed and Scarlett Rose on board.

Ayaz and Scarlett apart from being contestants of MTV Splitsvilla are currently seen in MTV Yaariyan. Ayaz a popular TV face rose to fame with his show Do Dil Ek Jaan. Scarlett, the bikini model from Goa is the winner of Splitsvilla 7 as reported by Tellychakkar.com.

Along with the lead actress Chetna Pande the two will be playing interns in a hospital. They will be working under their hot vampire doctor Meghna. Karan Kundra, the hero of the show, also a vampire will have a romantic relationship with Chetna’s character.

The first season of the show was wrapped up abruptly last month cause of Karan’s unfortunate accident that left him bed ridden with broken ribs. Also Ratan Rajpoot, an important part in the earlier season was diagnosed with dengue causing the show to end.

MTV Fanaah has been rumoured to be a remake of Vampire Diaries and Twilight series.
The second season of the show will now hit TV screens from 25 October with a fresh storyline.

The pretty and vivacious Sara Khan (Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein) who was recently seen performing an item song in Hum Hain Naa will soon be seen in an interesting avatar in Big Magic’s Nadaniyaan (Sagar Pictures).

Sara will be seen playing a girl who has run away from home. With her dad and his goons after her life, she will bump into Upasana Singh’s character. Sensing that she is a naïve she will decide to take stay in her home for few days to avoid the situations back home.

What happens when she goes there will be for viewers to see.

Usha Nadkarni in Big Magic's Nadaniyaan

The super talented and versatile actor Usha Nadkarni, who became a household name with Pavitra Rishta, will soon be seen in an episode of Big Magic’s Nadaniyaan- Teen Nadanon Ki Kahaani (Sagar Pictures).

The actress will play dadi of Pappu (Gaurav Sharma) and Nandu (Jay Pathak). Their mother played by Upasana Singh, is the one who torments and tortures her bahus, and this time it will be payback time for her.

With her mother-in-law at home, Upasana’s character will be seen bearing the ‘saas’ effect. A complete case of saas bhi kabhi bahu thi (ha ha!).

When we spoke to Usha she quipped, “I am playing the dadi who has come from the village to teach her bahu a lesson. The character will be a natural one with all the fighting and abusing the bahu (laughs).”

This maha episode will air this Friday (17 October).

Star Plus's new Shows in year 2015

Star Plus to strengthen weekend band; to launch four new shows by January 2015

Star Plus will bring in the New Year 2015 with a brand new programming strategy for its weekend band. And the trend that has been set on TV of late is for makers to work on crisp and interesting finite stories, of about 26 episodes.

The news coming in is that Star is presently in talks with four production houses to give them a show each, which will go on air by January 2015.

A highly placed source, gives us details about the production houses in talks for the same, “BBC Worldwide Productions, Sobo Films Pvt. Ltd, Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Playtime Creations will be making a show each for Star, as part of its weekend programming.”

Here’s more exclusive details on the shows.

BBC Worldwide which presently produces episodic love tales for Disney Bindass’ Yeh Hai Aashiqui is planning an ‘action-based’ story for Star.

Sobo Films who presented the unique celebrity based show Mission Sapne, for Colors is working on a ‘legal drama’ for the channel.

Vipul Shah, the ace film maker who is also coming up with a finite series Pukar for Life OK, has now bagged another TV show; he will be working on the finite series for Star Plus.

Playtime Productions, helmed by Paresh Rawal and Hemal Thakkar will also be bringing a 26 episodes series.

This indeed looks to be an interesting line-up!!

Actress Shalini S Sahuta, who was last seen in Sasural Simar Ka, is all set to re-live her days of being a radio jockey for Big FM by turning anchor for a couple based reality show titled Date Knight which will air on NDTV Goodtimes. The show will give a chance to the husbands to surprise their wives in all the unique ways possible.

The series has been shot in Delhi and the best part is that few real locations like the market area, Red Fort, streets of Chandni Chowk, India Gate etc have been highlighted.

Talking about her stint as anchor with the show, Shalini told Tellychakkar.com, “I always love to anchor as I have been a radio jockey in the past. The best part about this show is that I am wearing dresses with light make-up and fun hair styles. Indeed a relief and break from wearing the sarees and sindoors for daily soaps (smiles). Also, I get to play my age in the show, and it is real fun.”

On her experience, she shared, “I have done everything on this show, from boating to badminton to basketball to spa, to having Chandni Chowk’s famous paranthas from Paranthe Wali Gali to the best of desserts and wine tastings to shopping. Endemol India’s episodic based show Pyaar Ka The End on Bindass has created quite a furor with its dark love stories.

Now in the coming episode viewers will get to see a story based on MMS scandal in the show. And playing the main negative in the tale will be Shavez Khan who has earlier being part of shows like Ek Hasina Thi, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, CID and Crime Patrol.

The guy will be seen as part of the gang who will target a newlywed couple and plant a hidden camera in their hotel room to record footage of their closeness. Along with his gang he would then plan to sell the video and earn easy money. How their actions hamper the couple’s relationship will be for viewers to see.

The racket of pornography and hidden camera footages will be presented in the episode and how a couple manages to deal with the aftermath of getting involved in such a case.

Talking on the same Shavez said, “It was a very interesting role and I really got to do some action sequences in the episode. Such things need to get highlighted so that people can be aware of it.”

The actor shot for the episode yesterday and it will air soon.

Sanjay R Gagnani in Bindass' Pyaar Ka The End

The good looking and talented Sanjay R Gagnani, who recently left his mark as a rockstar in Star Plus' Veera, is all set to be seen in an episode of Bindass' Pyaar Ka The End (Endemol India).

The episode will have Sanjay playing a rich spoilt brat and a college stud. He will cross all his limits to get what he would want in life. His act will victimise a girl who will be left scarred for life.

When a new guy will enter her life she would be then petrified of the fact that her past may spoil her future and that would lead her to take a step towards crime.

The role of the girl will be played by newbie Megha Sharma.

The love story of Kabir (Alan Kapoor) and Piya (Adaa Khan) in Rashmi Sharma’s Sony PAL show, Piya Basanti Re will take to a new high with the lovers going through varied emotions owing to circumstances.

With Kabir getting to know of Piya’s engagement to childhood friend Himesh, he has started to realize that he has indeed been in love with Piya. In order to get his love, the man will decide to do whatever it takes to get her in his life in the coming episodes.

With the countdown having started to Piya getting engaged, Kabir will one day go to Piya’s house and will ask her to come out as he would want to talk to her. And this will be where he will breakdown, and confess his love.

A source from the set says, “This will be a high-intensity sequence wherein Kabir will beg for Piya’s love, but Piya will refuse him owing to class differences. She will try to tell Kabir that she belongs to the maid’s family while he is rich. Madly in love, Kabir will not be ready to understand all these things.”

Later, on the day of Piya’s engagement, Kabir will yet again get into Piya’s home looking for her. And he will aggressively take her in his vehicle and will stop it somewhere, and again try to persuade her to accept his love. However, Kabir’s girl friend Aanchal (Abhilasha) will witness this sequence between Kabir and Piya and will get shocked.

Will Piya and Kabir be able to break the shackles of class difference? Will Aanchal create a problem for Kabir?

Chanakya's death to open up a new chapter for Ashoka in Colors' Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat

Tellychakkar.com had exclusively reported about the exit of seasoned actor Manoj Joshi from the Colors popular show, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (Contiloe).

Well, we now give you more details on the heart-breaking death of Chanakya in the show.

As per the ongoing track, Khallatak (Manoj Kolatkar) has sent a letter to Chanakya to meet him alone in the forest region. The idea and plan of Khallatak and his team is to trap Chanakya alone and kill him.

As per sources, “In tonight’s episode, Chanakya will succumb to the deadly trap laid by Khallatak, Helena (Suzanne Bernert), Charumitra (Prinal Oberoi) and Sushim (Sumedh Mudhgalkar).”

The scenes will be emotional as all the four of them will pull their swords out and stab Chanakya. The final blow will of course, be given by Siamak (Faizan Khan) who will stab Chanakya right on his heart.

Meanwhile, Ashoka (Siddharth Nigam) who would get a sniff of something going wrong with Chanakya will come to the forest area. But before he would set his eye on Chanakya, Khallatak will set the hut in which Chanakya is put on fire.

However, Ashoka will come to the place and rescue Chanakya from the hut. But the sad part will be that Chanakya’s body will already be burnt.

As his last words to Ashoka, Chanakya will tell him that his journey has ended while Ashoka’s journey will begin now.

With Chanakya’s death, there will be sorrow all over.

For more than a year, the historical drama, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (Contiloe) on Colors, has been entertaining us. And it’s time to raise a toast for the makers and the artists of the series.

The historical drama narrating the tale of Emperor Ashoka’s life is all set to hit double century, with tonight’s (5 November) episode.

Elated with the success story, the team had a cake cutting ceremony yesterday night.

On the special occasion when we chatted with Suzzane Bernert aka Helena, the lady excitedly shared, “I am grateful to my fans for accepting me in a negative role. Not only my co-stars but the entire team has been super supportive to me. And to speak about the memories associated with Ashoka, I have so many to share that I can go on for the entire day”.

When we buzzed Ankita Sharma aka Noor, the lady also expressed her happiness about completing a long journey Ashoka. Ankita also shared with us that how she has enjoyed her special bonding time with Prinal (Oberoi) and Preet (Kaur Madhan).

Ever since Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat launched on Colors, the show has witnessed the bitter rivalry between young Ashoka (Siddharth Nigam) and Sushim (Sumedh Mudgalkar). Be it a tussle for power or a clash of egos, Ashoka and Sushim have matched wit and muscle on multiple occasions. And now, the duo will be seen in a duel of sorts to determine who is truly the strongest of them as they battle it out to win Emperor Chandragupta Maurya’s sword. Joining them in the final leg of the competition will be Noor Khorasan’s younger son Siamak.

As the story unfolds, what started out as sword fights to determine the physical strength of the candidates under the guidance of Acharya Shreesth. After two rounds of eliminations, it comes down to Siamak, Sushim and Ashoka as they enter the final leg of the competition with their final win guaranteeing them the coveted sword. The competition kicks off with all 3 entering a maze at the centre of which is Chandragupta Maurya’s sword. And their journey is anything but simple. Rife with obstacles, the maze turns into a battle of patience and grit. However, only two people are strong enough to make it to the final obstacle – Ashoka and Sushim. In the last phase of the competition, Ashoka and Sushim come face-to-face with a tiger and it is only after passing this stage that they will be able to claim the sword.

After weeks of anticipation, the competition to win over Chandragupta Maurya’s sword is finally ready to come to an end. But with Ashoka and Sushim coming face-to-face with a tiger, we cannot help but wonder which historical character will finally claim what is rightfully theirs? Who will walk away a winner to the biggest prize in history?

Chanakya to appoint Aakramak as Ashoka's Guru

Colors’ show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat (Contiloe) is gradually picking up its pace with its gripping storyline. And with Bindusara (Sameer Dharmadhikari) bonding with Ashoka (Siddharth Nigam), the show will take a new interesting turn.

Our source revealed, “Chanakya (Manoj Joshi), who is protecting Dharma from Khosran (Vikrant Chaturvedi) will take care of Ashoka now, and will have the intention of training him properly in warfare and royal arts. But, the royal kids will not easily accept Ashoka without knowing about his true identity.”

But Chanakya will be determined that the young lad should receive proper education and upon seeing the negative reaction from other royal kids, he will appoint Aakramak (Sachin Verma) to personally train him.”

When we contacted Sachin Verma, he commented, “Initially my character was believed to have influenced by Khosran, but my character is a very positive one, who is very much loyal to Magadh. Being a warrior of the state I will be seen in Ashoka’s guru’s role in upcoming episodes. Chanakya will appoint me to train Ashoka properly and I will obey his order.”

With this new development viewers will gradually witness Ashoka to become a strong and skilled warrior. But, we have to wait and watch how he will save himself from murder attempts on his life.

Upcoming Colors’ show Chakravartin Samrat Ashoka (Contiloe Telefilms) has already grabbed the eyeballs with its teaser and trailers. After the recent launch of its promo, interest level has gone high. The enchanting tale of this Indian emperor has always fascinated us and we will love to see the narration of this warrior’s life story on screen. Pallavi Subhash and Siddharth Nigam

After portraying the character of Rukmini in Mahabharat, Pallavi Subhash is back in an epic drama. The actress has essayed different types of characters in her acting career and the way she pulled them has proved that she is a born actress. Accompanying her is the wonder kid Siddharth Nigam, who has already mesmerized audiences with his power-packed performances in Dhoom 3 and in the Life OK show Mahakumbh. Naturally the acting chops of these two talented actors impressed us.

Action Sequences

With a National level gymnast like Siddharth present in the show, we can surely expect some high octane action sequences. From horse riding to sword fight to some stunning gymnastic stunts, the action scenes in the show will be an entertaining watch.

'Ashoka' tug of war between Star Plus and Colors

King Ashoka and his life-changing journey, that of going through a state of grief after the blood-filled Kalinga war, thus embracing Buddhism, has not been showcased on Indian television so far.
Now, what we hear is that two popular GECs, Star Plus and Colors, recently got embroiled in a ‘war’ of sorts to present the story of Ashoka on screen, as per sources.

For the uninitiated, news of Star Plus in association with Swastik Productions planning a huge show on King Ashoka was reported first in media. Star and Swastik who were on a high after the super-success of Mahabharat, wanted to make a project on the mighty warrior after doing quite a lot of research and planning. They were also in talks with actor Shaheer Sheikh (who was part of Mahabharat as Arjun) to play Emperor Ashoka.

But, it was Colors who suddenly took the upper hand and announced their project of making a show on Ashoka. They came out with an announcement about Contiloe Telefilms making a historical for Colors on Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. They also released a first look promo of their show, thus making things official in the content market.

This decision of Colors apparently stunned Star Plus, the numero uno channel, and they were taken aback with the sudden development.

And now, the big news coming in is that Star Plus, after going through a major brainstorming session, has decided to shelve their idea of making a show on King Ashoka.

Says a highly placed industry source, “Star Plus and Swastik were very clear with their idea of making a project as big and huge as Mahabharat. However, their ideas came to a screeching halt when the competitive channel Colors took an overnight decision of announcing their big-ticket historical show. The fact that their promo and first look was nothing but a graphical representation of the warrior’s picture gave out clear indications that they are still at a very nascent stage of planning the show. The casting process was triggered after the announcement was made.”

And now, claims another source, “Star Plus went through a series of high-level discussions whether to go ahead with Ashoka or not, and have arrived at a decision of shelving the project. Instead, the channel is determined to work on a completely new concept, which will redefine television viewing in India.”

In defense to the announcement coming on Colors, an associated source told us that Contiloe Productions has been working on the show, to air on Colors related to King Ashoka for over a year now.

Well, for viewers, they will enjoy and watch the tale of King Ashoka’s life on Colors. And as per our info, the Colors and Contiloe Productions’ show should hit screens post the culmination of Bigg Boss, that is end of December 2014.

Colors spokesperson chose not to comment on the development.

We also tried to reach Siddharth Tewary (Producer Swastik Productions) and also Abhimanyu Singh
(Producer Contiloe Productions) but did not get any response till the time we filed the story.

Roshni to turn negative in Sahara One's Masakali

Sahara One’s Masakali (Swami Films) will see a new twist in the tale with the character of Roshni, essayed by Rahila Rehman turning completely negative from tonight’s episode.

The lady entered as part of the game plan set up by Vishal (Vishal Vinatre), wherein he asked her to pose as his wife before his family. Roshni who initially refused to help Vishal later succumbed to his pleas and has come forward to help him. But now that she has entered into the family as the bride of Vishal, her real colors will come out.

As per a source, tonight’s episode will reveal her real intentions. Roshni would have been in love with Vishal ever since she had met him two years back. Just when she was to speak her mind out, she had gotten to know of Vishal’s marriage to Chandani (Nisha Nagpal). Now with her getting yet another opportunity to win her man, Roshni will not let the chance go away. She will be seen plotting to destroy Vishal’s family as they would not accept her marriage to Vishal.

When contacted, Rahila who was seen in Bani Ishq Da Kalma told us, “Yes, there will be twist to the tale. Till now, Roshni is shown to be the caring friend of Vishal who agreed to be his fake wife. Now she will want to get Vishal for herself.”

Masakali Mayhem: Actress Nisha Nagpal-production house draw daggers

Confusion reigned supreme on the sets of Sahara One’s popular show Masakali three days back when leading lady Nisha Nagpal mysteriously disappeared without a whisper leaving the show’s production house Swami Films and its creative heads in a lurch. With their lead actress gone, the show came to a standstill. The crew made vigorous attempts to trace the missing actress but unfortunately all efforts came to naught.

While the production house was at its wit’s end, Nisha is said to have established contact with them via email stating that she had to fly down to Dehradun urgently as her mom had taken ill. The creatives who were grappling with a situation in hand implored the actress to return soon for the sake of the show which couldn’t continue without her presence. But Nisha allegedly told them that her return would happen only after her mother completely recuperates.

Just when the creatives were trying to come to terms with the fact that Nisha could be absent for long, in came another missile in the form of a second email from Nisha. In the said email sent at 1.30 am today, Nisha announced her decision to move on from the show owing to professional and personal reasons without elaborating any further about the same. (Tellychakkar has a copy of the said mail).
However, creatives at Swami Films allege that Nisha decided to move on after she bagged a bigger and better role in Star Plus’ mega serial, Veera. A creative we spoke to, on condition of anonymity,
said, “Nisha had an exclusive contract with us. With this decision, she has not only broken the contract but also shown how unprofessional an actress she is. We are now deciding on the next course of action to be adopted against her.”

When we rang up Nisha, the actress had an altogether different story to say. Accusing the production house of non-payment of dues, Nisha said, “I was not paid for the last six months and despite me asking them to pay me they haven’t. Hence I moved on.”

When we rechecked with Swami Films about Nisha’s allegation of non-payment of dues, the creatives pooh-poohed it as false and baseless accusations. “We have made payments to her. She is a liar and complete unprofessional.”

Well, with both sides trading accusations and counter-accusations, this looks much like any other drama-filled Indian soap opera. Talk about reel spilling into real! Wonder who will come out triumphant in this battle. Let’s wait and see.
